Claire and Gary have owned and managed care homes for the past 12 years in the Ferndown area and personally run Ferndown Nursing Home.
Staffing
The management believe that the nursing home provides an excellent standard of nursing care and that this is achieved through a well-motivated and stable work force. Several members of the nursing and domestic staff have been with the home since it opened in 1990. We actively encourage and support ongoing training. Many of our staff are NVQ trained and we are currently supporting several of our experienced Health Care Assistants in achieving Level's 2 and 3 NVQ in Care. The Registered Nurses regularly attend courses locally to maintain and update their knowledge and we often have Student Nurses on placement from Bournemouth University
Staffing Ratios:
0800 hrs - 1400 hrs
1 Registered Nurse & 7 Health Care Assistants
1400 hrs - 2000 hrs
1 Registered Nurse & 4 Health care Assistants
2000 hrs - 0800 hrs
1 Registered Nurse & 2 Health care Assistants
In addition to these members of staff there are two cleaners and cooks with Claire Hughes often on the premises undertaking management duties along with her assistant Rebecca Hebditch.
